The history of piracy dates back more than 3000 years, but its accurate account depends on the actual meaning of the word ‘pirate’. In English, the word piracy has many different meanings and its usage is still relatively new. Today, some uses of the word have no particular meaning at all. A meaning was first ascribed to the word piracy sometime before the XVII century. It appears that the word pirate (peirato) was first used in about 140 BC by the Roman historian Polybius. The Greek historian Plutarch, writing in about 100 A.D., gave the oldest clear definition of piracy. He described pirates as those who attack without legal authority not only ships, but also maritime cities. Piracy was described for the first time, among others, in Homer's The Iliad and The Odyssey. For a great many years there remained no unambiguous definition of piracy. Norse riders of the 9th and 11th century AD were not considered pirates but rather, were called "Danes" or "Vikings". Another popular meaning of the word in medieval England was "sea thieves". The meaning of the word pirate most closely tied to the contemporary was established in the XVIII century AD. This definition dubbed pirates "outlaws" whom even persons who were not soldiers could kill. The first application of international law actually involved anti-pirate legislation. This is due to the fact that most pirate acts were committed outside the borders of any country.
Sometimes governments gave rights to the pirates to represent them in their wars. The most popular form was to give a license to a private sailor to attack enemy shipping on behalf of a specific king – Privateer. Very often a privateer when caught by the enemy was tried as an outlaw notwithstanding the license. Below we tried to outline a selective history of piracy, selective and arbitrary because there is so much that can be said about piracy and it is impossible to tell all. We hope that even this brief introduction will show the spirit and truth about the piracy the way we see it.

I ovaj film toplo preporucujem generacijama`70-`76 :) Sami znate razloge zasto...ps. zazmurite i za trenutak slusacete walkman :), citacete Bravo i lepiti slicice po sveskama..Jedini problem bice kako skupiti novac za novu kasetu DD i Madonnu... Izlazicete ispred zgrade, ponosno noseci svoj novi 501..
...should be all around. Skoro sam srela jednu osobu koja nije nikada gledala ovaj film?? Za mene, to je vise nego neverovatno! Film je sve ono sto vi mislite o njemu :) znaci divan, relaxing, vraca nadu u sve oko vas, pravi H. Naravno da je ovaj film nesto sto je svima nama bilo novo. Gledala sam ga 2 puta u startu u bioskopu (kao i Love Actually). The Divine language spoken in the film is an artificial language with only 400 words, invented by director Luc Besson and Milla Jovovich. In an interview with Jovovich included in the bonus feature "The Adventure and Discovery of a Film: The Story of the Fifth Element" on the DVD release of The Fifth Element, Jovovich stated that she and Besson wrote letters to each other in the Divine Language as practice. The first part of Leeloo's name, "Leeloominai" means "precious stones", and the latter "Ekbat De Sebat" is an honorific that is never defined. No meaning is given for "Lekatariba" or "Lamina-Tchai". "Leeloominai" is the only word in her name that appears in Luc Besson's published dictionary. -Wikipedia
...Dakle njoj se ne da da uziva kao Grace Kelly sa `muzevnim` Grantom u sportskim kolima, naocarima i maramom vezanom na francuski nacin dok lutaju ulicama Monaka. Ako se tome doda i ono sto svi mi imamo, a to su roditelji koji su na granici teen-age perioda pronalazenja sebe i tek sada razmisljaju sta je prava strast I da li su jedno za drugo, ali zato uvek pronadju nacin da pokusaju da vas upoznaju sa nekim koje je navodno odlicna prilika bas za vas. Okosnica svega u celom emotivnom haosu je neko ko je manje ili vise obelezio zivot svih nas - Daniel Cliever nedostizni, bogat, zavodljiv, sexy, macho kome smo tu kada nas ON –NJEGOVO VISOCANSTVO zatreba i jednog Marc Darcy-a finog, preciznog i odmerenog kog, bar mi to mislimo, mozemo uvek imati pa je u startu vrlo nezanimljiv, izbrise kao da ga nikad nije ni bilo niti ga moze biti.E, onda je vreme da se totalno zbunite, jer imate 1000 pitanja koja vas muce. Da li cu osvojiti nedostiznog (bar za one date), da li treba da cekam pravog, dokle, da li cu moci jednog dana da pokazem svoj novi ves nekome...? U slucaju da vam se pruzi ikakva sansa od strane Mr. Big-a u ovom slucaju sa realnijeg evropskog nivoa, potpuno postajete dostupni I u stanju ste da 1. sve trpite, 2. cekate satima i danima poziv, 3. budete vise puta dobro ponizeni i 4. i kada se licno uverite da to nije to I da vas zaista npr vara, jos uvek negde duboko zelite da mu pruzite jos jednu sansu. Uzas. Za njegov slobodan termin od i 5 minuta dali bi ste sve, zar ne, jer on je lep, savrsen i vas bar tih 15 minuta. On kao ljubavnik moze biti i ocajan ali vi to ne primecujete jer ste sa njim. Razum naravno ne postoji, a vi postajete uzasno slepi za sve usputne znakove okoline I savete prijatelja. Hej, pa vi ste na krovu sveta kad imate njega-dok ga imate, naravno. Pad I kraj, koji je uvek bio jako prisutan samo ga vi niste videli je tu. Bolja, lepsa, mladja, savrsena kao I on je tu za njega, a vi se pretvarate (u stvari, ruku na srce, uvek ste I bili ) bolna s*x sema beskrupuloznom lepotanu. Bridget je poletela I kao sve mi, bar jednom u zivotu, razbila se vec posle prvog zamaha. Daniel je bio uzasan. Prosto je mucno gledati scenu kada ON kao svevisnji upravlja zivotima I njenim I svoje trenutne zanimacije, koju uspesno krije u kupatilu. Obe ga imaju I obe ga gube a ON ostaje ultimativni nezenja. U ovim slucajevima ponekad se desava da takvi muskarci mogu svojim dobro uvezbanim osmehom, iz svojih prvih svalerskih dana, da odobrovolje suprotnu stranu. E, onda nastaje poseban haos u nasim glavama jer mi pocinjemo da se preispitujemo da li zaboga gresimo I da li smo mi te koje smo surove, neosetljive….Naravno, onog drugog-pravog , I dalje ne primecujemo, do jednog trenutka kada nam realnost otvori oci. Nazalost put do tog trenutka je dug. Muskarac koji je dostupan nije poseban, nije zanimljiv. Muskarac koji nije nasrtljiv uglavnom I ne dobija. Muskarac koji nas odbija, dobija sve kada nam posveti svoju cenjenu paznju na bar 2 minuta...
Bridget is one of us...Nema nikog, ima sve, mamu i tatu koji polako izlaze iz klimaksa, godine koje odzvanaju, zanimljiv posao, par pravih ponuda i jednu koja je nepristojna ali se ona bas za tu vise puta (kao po pravilu) odlucuje... Krug prijatelja, njihove probleme, svoje probleme...i to sve uvijeno u RP English i smesteno u sam centar Londona ...dakle, Brigde je uvek poucna za ponovo videti :))

Sledeca dva filma su: Lingvini incident i Plaza. Lingvini opet zbog specificne i neponovljive atmosfere i Bouvija. Plaza je tako poucan, bas kao i American Beauty. Nekako shvatite da smo svi podsistem u sistemu i da nam apsolutno nista nece pomoci. Kolektivna svest i konformizam su jako opasni, zar ne?Wednesday, March 28, 2007
